In recognition of WICONA's 70th Anniversary, a celebratory event was held in London's prestigious Building Centre in association with New London Architecture.

Guests from a multitude of disciplines within the industry, ranging from architects and facade engineers, to public bodies and main contractors, all braved London's winter weather to attend the event. Guests were joined by four well-respects industry figures to share their experiences on "Making Places".

Heather Cheesborough, Director of Planning and Strategic Transport at Croydon Council, was first on stage to discuss the planning process when considering projects within her London borough. As part of this consideration, she discussed new-build and refurbishment projects and how to fully integrate high-rise and low-rise developments.

Following Heather was Billie Lee, Director of HCL Architects and responsible for the development of Newfoundland in London's iconic Canary Wharf.

As a WICONA project, this showcased the brand's capability in manufacturing bespoke solutions for prestigious high-rise developments. Billie referenced how architects work alongside planners to achieve success in projects.

Werner Jager, Technical and Marketing Director of WICONA, discussed facade technologies and developments and highlighted recent WICONA innovations.

Finally, James O'Callaghan, Director at Eckersley O'Callaghan, spoke about the integration of glazing within aluminium systems to achieve high-end results.
