PROJECT DETAILS
The white paint of the building, the wooden floor, the metal of the walkways and the bracing of the steel structure create an aesthetic that is reminiscent of the shipbuilding industry. The main facade consists of a first shell of elements with external blinds. A steel frame then becomes visible with the WICSOLAIRE sun protection system that reduces the sunlight, but at the same time captures the brightness of daylight. “This is a typical Marseille slat structure; it is naturally huge and appropriate for the dimensions of the port of Marseille,” says architect Alain Ferran adding that: “The WICSOLAIRE shading system is an expression of Mediterranean architecture that has always been based on the theme of sustainable development.”
